During the Regional Plant Protection Program (2004-2008), the plant protection services of the IOC islands were trained in phytosanitary inspection to ensure phytosanitary security at their borders. Strict control is necessary for the protection of the environment and economy of the islands, which are beautiful but have a fragile biodiversity.
